Our Team

Bill Boorman is something of a recruitment veteran, having worked in the industry for 25 years. All this despite being told at his first job that he didn’t have a future in the business! At the age of 40, the industry has given him most of his experience, having worked in most market places. For the last 12 years he worked for one of the fastest growing companies in the U.K. – this culminating in his appointment as Director of Training.

Recruitment has given him an insight into the workings of many companies and he believes that this has given him a broad based understanding of business and people in general. He bases his training and consultancy work on this experience. He describes himself as being a non-academic trainer, preferring instead to deliver “true life” training that mixes reality with theory. Through his many experiences can draw upon real case studies that help make sense of the problems delegates face.

As a presenter, Bill has delivered many keynotes to industry leaders, working to his usual aim of informing, amusing, educating and inspiring change. It’s a simple belief that people learn best when they are smiling.

Personally, Bill is married to Fran with two children, who give him plenty of inspiration. He runs marathons around the world badly and slowly, and loves being in the great outdoors.

Geoff Webb has been a member of the Recruitment community for over 20 years.  He has spent 6 years in recruitment management and decided that it wasn’t for him.  For the past 6-7 years he has focused on Sourcing (finding people on the internet and via phone) and Talent Community Management, or the ability to leverage Social Media, Media and Networking to drive talented prospects towards the best candidate experience.

Geoff is an avid blogger and promoter of Recruitingblogs.com and has been involved with Recruitfest as well as the creation of many online communities including the Canadian Recruitment Professionals Association.  Geoff is also the founder and chief bandleader for the Toronto Recruiter Meetup, a monthly meeting of some of Toronto’s thought leadership in the Recruitment space.

Geoff’s other interests include hanging out with his family and working within his elcletic community.

Fran Boorman has a wide range of experience in payroll, human resources and general administration. Competent with most software packages she is organised and efficient. Working in partnership with husband Bill she has been key in building up the Consultancy working primarily for SME recruitment Companies in the UK and abroad.

Fran’s company responsibilities include account management, banking, credit control and invoicing, VAT returns, website management, and acting as PR to Bill Boorman.

Previously Fran worked within a major high street recruitment agency for several years as a branch administrator responsible for payroll and credit control, invoicing and general administration.

A mother who juggles working from home, and looking after their two children Frank and Alice. Although her spare time is limited she does enjoy putting her feet up and reading crime novels.

Maha Akiki has been recruiting since 1998.  She started her career in the third party world, working both contingency and retainer, before moving into the corporate world. • Hi,

I am a journalist and I am working on a feature for Recruitment Consultant magazine in the UK and I wanted contact details for Bill Boorman. The magazine’s editor has been Tweeting about the feature and Bill showed some interest in taking part – I want to see if he is still keen.

    Thanks and regards,

    Liz
