TRU London had its inaugural run on November 19, 2009 in Canary Warf London. It was a smashing success, generating tons of Blogs, Posts, Photos and videos, all available via TRUblogs.
An unconference is an event that has no fixed structure and only two rules, no power point and no presentations. The day is split into sessions during which a series of “tracks” run on a theme with a track leader hosting the discussion, debate and learning. The discussion takes a life of it’s own with attendees bringing their own views, questions and opinions as well as debate. This takes many directions and concludes with real learning and opinion forming. The track leaders are carefully chosen for their areas of experience and knowledge and for the value they can bring to the “track.” They have been drawn from across the globe giving the unconference a genuine global view. We will be adding to the list of track leaders right up to the day of the event (and even during it.)
You are actively encouraged to disagree, argue, debate and question. The only rule is that you respect one another. In addition to the published tracks, we will be adding to the list, by request, right up to the day. If you want to add a track, please contact us and we will review your request and set it up. We will also be encouraging impromptu tracks throughout the day as new subjects comes up. This unconference is about what you want to discuss and is not restricted to any agenda.
Day 1 is a technology focused day looking at the next 5 years. Day 2 will cover all things people, recruiting, talent and a whole host of conversation topics. No doubt the days will cross over. We will be producing a white paper on future technology culmunating from topics of Day 1.
To review the last event check out these blogs and video. They give you a real feel for what you can expect.
The next TRU London is scheduled for February 18-19th again in London, this time located in the HQ of Twitter Job Search in Soho. For travel discounts please see our Travelers page and to learn more about London.

TRU Twitter Journalist:
His ancestors were Spanish pirates who came to England in chains to be locked up in Plymouth gaol. Because of this lineage Glenn Le Santo is a straight-talking, take-no-prisoners type. But despite his crooked ancestry he’s a refreshingly honest and transparent individual, a genuine “my word is my bond” style gentleman. Glenn has done many different and varied things in his almost fifty years. He went from computer operator at IBM in the Seventies, through fine artist, and on to become a national magazine editor. In between he found time to ride a motorcycle from East to West through the US of A. He liked the ride so much he turned around and he motored all the way back across the America again. He did it the right way of course, on a Harley-Davidson.
Now he’s an emerging authority on everything 140, devoting his time to blogging about social media issues. He is also a regular at social media events and exhibitions, often to be found prodigiously live-blogging the event from his laptop. Le Santo’s business card now says ‘professional tweeter’ and he has topped UK’s Most Popular Tweeter chart, he’s even been formally addressed as Mr Twitter.
